Hotel Frederiksminde tops the gastronomic guide in South Zealand & Møn. Since 2016, the restaurant has brought a Michelin star to Præstø, but there are certainly also other restaurants ready to indulge your taste buds! Fall in love with the food scene of South Zealand & Møn as we give you an overview of the area’s most acclaimed and memorable restaurant experiences.

Hotel Frederiksminde

With a view over Præstø Fjord and nature close at hand, Hotel Frederiksminde lies quietly and almost discreetly. Here, the pace is slowed down, and the details are allowed to take center stage.

The restaurant holds both a Michelin star and a Michelin Green Star, reflecting a high gastronomic level and a continuous focus on sustainability. In the kitchen, it is the season and the local landscape that set the direction – from freshly caught fish to vegetables from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden and nearby producers.

Today, Head Chef Mulla Yalcin is at the helm. With a background from some of Denmark’s most renowned restaurants, he works with a cuisine where respect for the ingredients is the starting point. The flavors are clean, the technique is classically rooted, and the ambition is simple: to let the food reflect the place you are in.

The atmosphere is relaxed and present, even though the level is high. Here, it is not only the plate that tells a story – the surroundings do too. The fjord, the light, and the calm become part of the experience, whether you come for dinner or a stay.

Inside, you are met by a classic inn atmosphere with warmth, wood, and a sense that time is allowed to pass a little more slowly here. In the kitchen, there is respect for Danish traditions, but also a clear love for a good meal. The flavors are clean, the portions generous, and attention has been paid to the details without making it formal.

Rønnede Inn is also part of the MINDEVÆRDIG family together with, among others, Hotel Frederiksminde. This means that there is a shared ambition behind the experience: to create places you remember. Not only for the food, but for the whole. The atmosphere, the hospitality, and the small moments that linger a little longer than the visit itself.
