Rural accommodation near Præstø Fjord

Just a few kilometres from Præstø Fjord, with woodland, beaches and cultural attractions within walking or cycling distance, Roholtegaard is suitable for a single night, a full weekend or a private group stay.

The property was once a boarding school and is still full of life, although in a new form. Hosts Astrid and Jeppe have solid experience in gastronomy, catering and professional hospitality. They have created a place where guests can use the house as a base for exploring the local area or find a quiet corner of the garden with a cup of coffee.

The property is home to chickens, cows, beehives, fruit trees and herbs. Some of the produce is used by Astrid and Jeppe’s catering company, Mad Synergi, and their Copenhagen cafés, Madkartoteket and Format.

Staying at Roholtegaard

The guest rooms are on the first floor and form a natural extension of the hosts’ own home on the second floor. Five of the seven rooms have a private en-suite bathroom. Rooms 5 and 6 each have a private bathroom located across the hallway. The bathrooms are numbered and reserved exclusively for the guests staying in the corresponding rooms, but they are not directly connected to the rooms.

Guests can slow down in the library or use the garden at their own responsibility. The shared kitchen is set up for self-catering and is used by all guests.

Breakfast can be added to the stay and is served in the shared dining room, allowing guests to eat when it suits them. It may include the farm’s own honey, jam and compote. Dinner can also be purchased, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available.

Experiences near Roholtegaard

Roholtegaard has views of both woodland and water. Walking, running and cycling routes begin close to the property, and the sandy beaches at Feddet and Faxe Ladeplads are only a few kilometres away.

Nearby attractions include the Forest Tower, Gisselfeld Castle, Præstø Fjord and Vemmetofte Convent. Families can also try fossil hunting at KALK.

Stays for couples, families and groups

Roholtegaard is particularly suitable for couples, friends, families, solo travellers, cycling guests and visitors travelling with a small dog.

The entire first floor can be rented by families, small groups or retreat guests. It offers a peaceful alternative to a holiday home and provides space for both time together and quiet moments.

Astrid and Jeppe focus on creating the right setting without deciding how guests should spend their stay. You set your own pace and shape the experience yourselves. Roholtegaard can also arrange a themed dinner or a meal based on seasonal ingredients from the local area.
