Oringepynten

In 1858, the Østifternes Mental Hospital, also known as Oringe, was inaugurated. The mental institution was located on the peninsula Oringe, which was selected so that one could be a little isolated from the outside world. The park around Oringe was laid out to give patients a better quality of life and some beautiful surroundings.

The area is today open to the public and you can walk all over the ear, and along the way you will be able to enjoy the view of Vordingborg Nordhavn and the Farø bridges. The beautiful nature of old trees, water and green areas around the island is a wonderful experience. And at the very tip of the island is Oringepynten, from where you have a fantastic view.
